Austin, Texas - Alereon, Inc. is making available IOGEAR's Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit  for use with its AL5000 Worldwide Wireless USB Chipset.

The IOGear kit is a hub and adapter combo that can operate in WiMedia band groups one, three, four and six, meeting regulatory requirements via simple software configuration.

The AL5000 Chipset family transmits and receives WiMedia band groups one through six, which span frequencies of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz respectively.

Alereon's AL5000 family includes the AL5300/ AL5100 Worldwide Wireless USB Chipset and its recently announced AL5350/AL5100 Worldwide Wireless USB Chipset with a PCIe interface.

Both are based on WiMedia's common radio platform and integrate all essential RF circuitry, plus the BBP/MAC and software, to develop a worldwide Wireless USB product.
