Extended Systems is set to release its XTNDConnect PC Web PIM SDK -- a software development kit designed to address the burgeoning trend of Web-based personal information management (PIM) portals.

The product presents application service providers (ASPs) and corporate enterprise customers with the ability to easily set up and maintain Web portals, which enable users to store and edit contact, appointment, and task information from any Internet-connected PC or portable device.

XTNDConnect PC Web PIM SDK is designed to synchronize mobile device information to Internet portal databases. Extended Systems' SDK delivers an efficient way to add synchronization capabilities to Internet portals or Web-based applications. By utilizing XTNDConnect Web PIM SDK, enterprise companies and ASPs are no longer required to build their own PC-based synchronization engine or user interface to integrate with their Web-based PIM. As a result, they can dedicate development resources elsewhere.

XTNDConnect PC WebPIM SDK also offers translator support for popular mobile devices and applications. Portable device users will be able to access a customers' synchronization service with Palm, Windows CE, and Casio personal organizers. In addition, they will be able to synchronize information from a number of PIM applications including Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Lotus Organizer, and ACT!. The number of applications supported ensures compatibility with a variety of mobile device users.
