NBC will debut CueTV May 24th. This free technology links a television and Web browser on a computer in the same room. CueTV, using an audio signal, allows a television to remotely control the browser running on a PC in the same room by sending a signal embedded in the television program. The audio signal, the "cue," signals the PC to launch the browser and a specific URL related to the program currently airing on the TV.

The CueTV kit comes with an integrated device/cable and the necessary software free of charge. Planned distribution through Radio Shack retail locations starts May 24. No set-top box or fee is required.

CueTV programming will first appear on NBC beginning May 24th during a series of on-air spots promoting NBCIQ, a Web-based trivia sweepstakes that will test consumers' knowledge of NBC programs.

Digital: Convergence Corporation, a pioneer in Internet navigation services headquartered in Dallas , has partnered with NBC, Belo, Young & Rubicam, Inc., E.W. Scripps Company, and Radio Shack Corporation to bring this Web navigation solution to consumers.
