AU-System Browses on the Go

AU-System's new mobile Internet browser, AUS WAP Browser 2.0, is compatible with both existing and future WAP protocols and mainstream Internet protocols, including HTTP, TCP/IP, and XHTML. The browser is also capable of running existing WAP applications, as well as next generation WAP, i-mode, and Internet applications. The browser complies with the M-Services Guidelines, W3C recommendation issued by the GSM Association.

The browser allows handset and PDA manufacturers to tailor it for plug-ins, security, user interface, memory capacity, and screen size. Functions supported include: email, MMS, Java, and a wide range of mark-up languages, like HTML and i-mode's cHTML, XHTML.

AU-System demonstrated applications developed by Cybird, a Japanese content supplier. The demonstration version runs on Palm OS on a Palm m505, communicating via Bluetooth.

The AUS WAP Browser 2.0 will be fully released in the third quarter of this year. At the time of the release, the browser will be fully compliant with WAP 2.0 standards, expected to be completed in the same timeframe.
