Castelle Serves Up Wireless Access

PC Expo is seeing a lot of wireless action this week, including the LANpress 2P/Wireless Access Point from Castelle. The LANpress 2P/Wireless is an integrated 2-port print server and IEEE 802.11b compliant Wireless Access Point combining two popular distributed functions -- a multi-port, multi-protocol print server and 802.11b wireless access point.

As an access point for a wireless network, the LANpress 2P/Wireless provides secure, high-speed access to email, the Internet, and all other network resources. When the LANpress 2P/W is used as a print server, its two parallel ports and multiple protocol support allow all LAN and wireless users shared access to printers. Documents can be printed simultaneously from either a wireless or 10/100BaseT connection.

In addition, the LANpress 2P/Wireless provides support for multiple OSs, including Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT, Mac OS, Netware 3.x/4.x/5.x and UNIX. LANpress 2P/Wireless comes with an extensive set of management tools, including Web-based setup utility and support for HP JetAdmin software.

LANpress 2P/Wireless is available immediately from Castelle's US distributors, Ingram Micro and Tech Data, and resellers, including CDW and Insight, for $395.
