Intrusion.com, Inc., has quickly expanded its fleet of security devices with the introduction of four new integrated security appliances, the PDS 1110, PDS 5100, PDS 5300, and PDS 5500.

All Intrusion.com appliances use the same hardened Red Hat Linux operating system, Intrusion.com PDS Pilot 2.0 management software, and common hardware components. Updates to attack signatures and the firewall are easier with these devices since both Intrusion.com software and Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 updates can be handled remotely and installed immediately.

PDS 1110
Designed for use in ROBOs with up to an E1 or T1 level connection, this small appliance, which measures 5 by 7 inches, can fit on a desk or be wall mounted. The PDS 1110 comes pre-installed with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 SmallOffice software. This appliance can be managed remotely by IT administrators in the corporate office with no threat that the configuration will be tampered with by unauthorized personnel since there is no keyboard, video, or mouse (KVM) connections on the appliance. The PDS 1110 features three 10/100 Ethernet ports for in/out and DMZ or server.

Available in July 2001, the suggested retail price of the PDS 1100 hardware is $895 USD.

PDS 5100
This appliance has been engineered with the needs of enterprises and MSPs in mind. This 1U, 19-inch, rack-mountable solution has a 600MHz Intel Celeron II processor, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive and no KVM capabilities. It also includes serial and USB connections. This appliance is pre-installed with either Intrusion.com SecureNet Pro intrusion detection software or Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 software. The PDS 5100 will handle intrusion detection at 96 Mb/s with 100% attack detection or 150Mb/s firewall throughput.

The PDS 5100 hardware has a suggested retail price of $3,995 USD and will be available in August 2001.

PDS 5300
This 1U, 19-inch, rack-mountable device has a 600MHz Intel Celeron II processor, 256MG RAM, 20 GB hard drive, and KVM capabilities. It also contains three standard PCI slots for VPN accelerators, additional NICs, or WAN interfaces, making these appliances extremely adaptable to each customer's unique IT environment. It also includes a built-in modem with dial-back support and serial and USB connections. This appliance will be pre-installed with either Intrusion.com SecureNet Pro intrusion detection software or Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 software. The PDS 5300 will handle intrusion detection at 96 Mb/s with 100% attack detection or 150Mb/s firewall throughput.

The PDS 5300 hardware has a suggested retail price of $5,995 USD and will be available in August 2001.

PDS 5500
Designed for power and speed, the PDS 5500 has an 850MHz Pentium III processor, 512MB RAM, and three PCI slots for expansion, providing better performance and more flexibility. It also contains three standard PCI slots for VPN accelerators, additional NICs, or WAN interfaces, making these appliances extremely adaptable to each customer's unique IT environment. It also includes a built-in modem and serial and USB connections. This PDS can be ordered pre-installed with either Intrusion.com SecureNet Pro intrusion detection software or Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1. Just like the PDS 5300, this appliance is 19 inches, 1U, and rack-mountable. This appliance has been engineered for enterprises of all sizes, supersites, and managed service providers.
