CipherTrust Provides Email Virus Protection

CipherTrust has introduced their new email security appliance to protect networks from viruses. IronMail is an application-specific security appliance for email, which integrates hardware and pre-configured software. It sits between network firewalls and corporate email servers, such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes. IronMail provides security for email servers and messages.

Email is the main source point for viruses attacking networks. Firewalls provide solid perimeter protection, but, by design, allow email to travel in and out of the enterprise without scrutiny. Hackers can exploit this vulnerability to attack email servers or use these servers as a launch pad to compromise other business servers. CyberTrust is reducing this risk with their security appliance that inoculates email before it gets into the network.

IronMail is designed to solve these security vulnerabilities by augmenting existing firewall technologies and providing a layer of security specific to email servers and email messages.

Business benefits of IronMail include:

  • Protection of confidential corporate information from hacker attacks
  • Improved uptime and employee productivity by preventing spamming, relaying, and denial-of-service attacks
  • Privacy for email messages in-transit over the Internet
  • Reduced corporate liability by enforcing email policies

IronMail is currently available in multiple models to suit the needs of medium and large enterprises. Pricing for IronMail starts at $12,500.
