Gateways in a Flash

DoBox, Inc., is embedding its Home Server Gateway software to work with lower-cost, flash-based gateways. The Home Server Gateway is an integrated gateway and home server with added firewall security that remotely delivers and upgrades software and services to residential users.

The DoBoxSecure platform used in the Home Server Gateway is based on the Open BSD Unix operating system and supports networking standards such as:

• HomePNA
• HomeRF
• Ethernet
• 802.11b
• DSL
• Cable Modem

Other features include firewall security and Web interface for management and delivery of Internet services.

DoBox is working with service providers, networking product companies, PC and appliance manufacturers, and other technology companies to integrate their software into other gateways to deliver a home networking solution that utterly simplifies customers' home lives and facilitates the adoption of broadband Internet access, as well as new devices and services.
