Maxspeed Corporation's new MaxTerm 5200 next generation thin client terminal was unveiled at Citrix iForum 2001. The MaxTerm 5200 is the newest thin client terminal featuring an integrated wireless option and Web access.

The MaxTerm 5200 provides access to Web applications, as well as traditional corporate business applications. The customizable MaxTerm 5200 gives administrators the freedom to select settings that optimize their environments. It provides both the manageability of a centralized server environment and the power of Web-based application access from the desktop.

Equipped with a 300MHz processor, 64MG RAM, 32MG flash memory, a Windows CE 3.0 operating system, and built in Internet Explorer 4.0, the MaxTerm 5200 is a powerful and versatile thin client terminal. In addition to supporting the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) and RDP protocols, a full suite of plug-ins are built-in, including PDF Viewer, Citrix NFuse application portal software, Windows Media Player, Quick View Plus file viewer, flash, and Java. Security is provided with the PPT VPN protocol, and a robust suite of terminal emulations, including IBM 5250 and 3270.

MaxTerm 5200 offers Ethernet, Wireless 802.11b, or dial-up connectivity options. The secure 802.11b wireless interface and antenna are built in, so there are no external parts that can be broken or removed from the unit.

A swappable Compact Flash card is also built in to the new MaxTerm 5200, providing users with local storage and off-line capabilities. In addition, embedded local word processing applications, an inbox, and printing options deliver other benefits.

The MaxTerm 5200 will be available for quantity shipments beginning October 29, 2001.
