In following the Comdex wireless trend, TROY Wireless has announced both 802.11b and Bluetooth wireless products. EtherWind is a full-featured 802.11b print server that allows multiple users to share a printer without physical cable connections and EtherSync is a PC card that provides 802.11b connectivity for laptop computers. WindConnect enables Bluetooth wireless connectivity on most types of printers, while WindPort is a PC Card that provides a similar capability for laptops.

TROY Wireless has focused on ease of use and high compatibility in the design of the new products. All of them work transparently with standard Windows applications and printer drivers. The EtherWind and EtherSync are Wi-Fi certified by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA), and WindConnect and WindPort are both qualified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group to ensure proper operation with devices made by other companies. EtherWind works with virtually any network operating system, provides Macintosh functionality, and operates with HP's JetAdmin management software.

Vane Clayton, TROY Wireless' president, said, "Although there have been a large number of 802.11b PC cards and access point products, very few vendors have provided the capability to integrate printers into the wireless network. TROY Wireless is now closing this gap, providing a complete end-to-end wireless printing solution."
