Networking Gets Fruity with PEAR

Galtronics' newest product family, the PEAR Wireless 802.11b wireless local area network (WLAN) devices, may have users wondering, does that belong in the fruit bowl? But these advanced RF devices make up a high performance, easy to install wireless network.

The PEAR Wireless product line is designed and delivered by the recently founded Wireless Networking Group of Galtronics. Galtronics has manufactured and supplied antennas for mobile phones, radios, and other wireless devices.

The PEAR Wireless network includes a complete set of products that provide flexibility, range, and improvement in throughput and security. The product set includes:

• PEAR Wall Access Point -- a wall mounted access point with directional antenna that offers easy installation and improves overall efficiency
  
• PEAR Ceiling Access Point -- a ceiling mount access point with omni-directional antenna that reduces signal loss, provides superior coverage, and can improve security
  
• PEAR Desktop Access Point -- shaped in the image of a pear, it features a dual spatial diversity internal antenna in a small footprint application
  
• PEAR USB Adaptor -- similarly shaped with an internal antenna
  
• PEAR PC Card -- used in laptop devices.

The PEAR Wireless network products currently available include the Desktop Access Point, USB Adaptor, and PC Card, priced at $299, $149.95, $129.95 respectively. The Wall Access Point and Ceiling Access Point will be available next month for $659 and $695.
