Verizon Wireless and Motorola have joined to announce the exclusive introduction of the V200 Personal Communicator from Motorola, a next-generation communication tool that combines the full functionality of a wireless phone, a powerful speakerphone, a PC-like keyboard for easier two-way text messaging, a WAP browser for Internet access, and wireless email.

The V200 Personal Communicator from Motorola is the first CDMA device to combine phone and text with a QWERTY keyboard, letting customers use their preferred method of communication -- talk or text -- without carrying more than one device.

“The V200 Personal Communicator from Motorola is a unique communication device that will deliver quality voice, text messaging, and Internet access, that truly meets the needs of many of our customers,” said Gary Schulman, president of wireless data and Internet services for Verizon Wireless. “Operating on our comprehensive digital network, this device will bring consumers an all-in-one communication and organization tool with the trusted network coverage they demand and expect from Verizon Wireless.”

Through January 31, 2002, new users who activate a monthly digital price plan of $35 or higher will receive unlimited text messaging and Internet alerts through February 2002. After the promotional period, customers can pay as they go for $0.02 per message to receive and $0.10 per message to send messages or select bundled plans for $2.99 per month for 100 messages, $3.99 per month for 200 messages, and $7.99 per month for 600 messages sent or received.

The V200 Personal Communicator from Motorola, available exclusively from Verizon Wireless, can be found at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online for $199.99.
