LG InfoComm has three new Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 2000 handsets that will support 1xRTT advanced wireless networks scheduled for launch in the U.S. market. The LG TP5250, VX-1, and VX-9000 will all be capable of achieving a maximum packet data transmission of 144 kbps, or ten times the capacity of the current generation CDMA networks.

The VX-9000 is LG InfoComm's first 1xRTT smartphone. With 64 MB of flash and 8 MB of SRAM, the LG VX-9000 leads the industry in smartphone memory capacity. This tri-mode handset is also an ultra-lightweight PDA phone, weighing just under six ounces. Additional features include POP3 email, two embedded games, speakerphone, voice dialing and recording, Bluetooth support, and the Openwave UP 4.1 browser.

Also small and lightweight, the LG VX-1 will be LG InfoComm's first 1xRTT tri-mode handset in the U.S. market. Featuring a sleek clamshell design and LG's trademark external LCD, the VX1 is wireless Web enabled with the Openwave UP 4.1 Browser and includes two pre-programmed games, voice dialing and recording, and PC synchronization.

The LG TP-5250 will be LG's first co-branded 1xRTT-enabled handset. Equipped to support the J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) application platform, this handset is capable of accommodating a variety of applications, downloadable ringers and pictures. Other features on this dual-band handset include CMX MIDI sound, voice activated dialing and recording, scheduler/phone book, and USB support.
