Following St. Bernard Software's acquisition of Internet Products, Inc. in December 2000, St. Bernard is discontinuing the InterGate line of server appliance products, originally developed by Internet Products, as of Dec. 31, 2001.

To maintain support and upgrade ability for the InterGate line of devices I-Silver has developed the LUISA -- Linux Universal Internet Server Appliance -- Internet server. Software for the LUISA is also compatible with the InterGate model 7000 and 8000 hardware.

LUISA is a server appliance that provides a number of key Internet infrastructure functions such as email capabilities, Web server, firewall security, VPN, and a host of other network-based applications. This Internet gateway includes proxy, firewall, NAT, and support for cable, DSL, T1/T3, and ISDN Internet connections. It is also compatible with VPNs using IPSec and PPTP. Combining a secure Web-based administrative interface with the Linux operating system, LUISA provides an easy-to-use, robust, and affordable package.

St. Bernard is ceasing production of the InterGate because it does not fit strategically with the product direction of St. Bernard, who acquired Internet Products primarily for its iPrism Web filtering technology.
