Motorola Launches Mobile Services Cafe

Motorola launchew Mobile Services Cafe, a new, rich menu of applications and services to help network operators drive adoption of mobile data services on any Internet-enabled devices.

Mobile Services Cafe comprises software-based services and applications supported by the necessary middleware, architecture and third party content and designed to allow operators to more quickly commercialize a variety of wireless data services under their brands. It enables them to offer mobile consumers a selection of customizable content and services that help transform any Internet-ready mobile device into an extensions of the user's personality and preferences.

Mobile Services Cafe allows the operator to choose the applications that are appropriate for its business. Motorola will provide installation on the operator's web site. It is also able to host and manage these services for them with applications from either Motorola or other sources. In the Mobile Services Cafe business model, Motorola will share in the success of the venture with the operator, thereby reducing the potential financial risk to the operator while enabling it to concentrate on and add value to its business.

Motorola will supply, deploy and support the technology behind the operator's portal. Mobile Services Cafe will be offered with a toolkit of services, including professional services, which operators can use to customize, install and maintain the solution set they choose.
