Fujitsu LOOX at Pocket PCs

Fujitsu launched its verion of a Pocket PC device with the new Pocket LOOX device. The PDA device is sleek, lightweight and offers expanded capabilities such as long battery life and multiple card slots. Pocket LOOX runs Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 and includes software such as Pocket Outlook, Pocket Word and Pocket Excel.

The PDA is powered by an Intel PXA250 XScale CPU with 32MB ROM and 64MB RAM storage capacity. The handheld companion comes with a 64K-color indoor/outdoor touch screen display with handwriting and character recognition software.

Compact Flash (CF) Type II card slot and Secure Digital (SD) memory slot allows expanded capabilities with add-on cards. A variety of expansion cards provide increased storage capacity, wireless capabilities, high-speed data access and audio communications.

Pocket LOOX weighs 5.9 ounces and measuring 5.15 inches wide by 3.2 inches deep and 0.7 inches high. The Lithium-Polymer battery offers up to 15 hours of working time. A second battery plug-on module is targeted to provide up to 24 hours of working time.

Pocket LOOX will be available at the end of May in the United States with an estimated price of $599.
