Boingo, Nomadix Gateway for Public 802.11 Networks

Boingo Wireless and Nomadix access gateway appliance configured to authenticate with Boingo Wireless' ultra-high-speed wireless Internet service. Enhanced billing features have been added to the Nomadix firmware to enable seamless integration with the Boingo accounting and authorization system.

This turnkey solution enables any network operator that has deployed a Wi-Fi network to participate in revenue sharing as part of the Boingo Wireless network.

The specially configured Universal Subscriber Gateway (USG) will be available April 2 and is being demonstrated here at the CTIA show in Orlando, Fla. Because the functionality is delivered through a firmware update, existing USGs can also be upgraded to support the new set of features.

By deploying the new Universal Subscriber Gateway firmware updates Boingo customers enjoy simplified billing and authentication management of their Wi-Fi networks.Once they establish a Network Access Agreement with Boingo, they can start charging for access to their Wi-Fi.

The Nomadix USG also includes enhanced security and access control features. Boingo provides an easy-to-follow setup guide for the USG product that allows any network operator to turn their wireless network into a profit-generating public location by joining Boingo Wireless as a network partner.
