Cermetek Dials Into the InternetBy Michael Foley Cermetek Microelectronics released its new miniature Internet-enabled modem. The modem is developed to facilitate embedded Internet connectivity applications is designed to be installed on a printed circuit board. The CH2124 can be used for both sending and receiving e-mails. OEMs can use the CH2124 to embed basic e-mail communications and data transfer capability into products. The CH2124 is targeting home medical monitoring systems, alarm /alerts, remote diagnostic, data logging and energy monitor and management applications. The CH2124 is a 2400 bps modem platform combined with web connection firmware. It can also be used in conventional data transmission or control applications.
