Taurus One is a new security appliance from Celestix Networks. The appliance provides internet firewall protection for businesses from the small office up to the enterprise-class level. Taurus One is based on the Celestix hardware platform and uses Check Point Software Technologies' VPN-1/FireWall-1 Next Generation (NG) software.

Taurus One can be managed locally via a standard web browser or centrally through Check Point's management software. For an additional level of flexibility, a backlit LCD panel (128 x 64-pixel) and four navigation keys can be used manually for monitoring or configuration.

Taurus One delivers 190 Mbps of firewall throughput and 140 Mbps of 3DES VPN throughput. It contains three 10/100-ethernet ports or six auto-sensing 10/100-ethernet ports. Preinstalled Check Point FloodGate-1 software adds policy-based bandwidth management.

The Taurus is currently available and comes in two models (3 port and 6 port). The suggested retail price of Taurus One starts at $2499 (3 ethernet ports).
