BSQUARE Corporation has updated its Java support for the Windows CE.NET platform. They plan to release in April the JEM-CE (Java Embedded Machines for Windows CE) Software Development Kit (SDK) which is a Java Virtual Machine and development environment for PocketPCs. JEM-CE is a Sun-certified Java Virtual Machine and is compatible with Sun's 1.2 Personal Java.

JEM-CE SDK provides Java runtime support for Internet Explorer (IE4) plug-ins, as well as JVMs for standalone Java applications on CE.Net embedded devices. JEM-CE is based on Insignia Solution's Jeode technology. Configuration and monitoring tools are included to customize the JVM operation and footprint.

BSQUARE's JEM-CE for Windows CE.Net X86 SDK will be available in early April. JEM-CE product prices range from $1500 to $11,500.
