Red Hat Makes Servers Into Linux StrongholdsBy Bernard Cole RALEIGH, N.C.- Following on the heels of its month-old Linux Advanced Server, Red Hat, Inc. has just released Stronghold Enterprise, an open source secure web server based on Apache. Stronghold incorporates the company's Content Accelerator for performance enhancement and its Network-enabled software for security alerts and critical code updates. It has Java support, hardware cryptographic acceleration and application server connections. Tools such as Tomcat, AxKit, and DAV for content editing and management are integrated with Stronghold Enterprise. Supported languages include PHP and Perl. Available for both Linux and Unix platforms, Stronghold Enterprise will be available in April through Red Hat Network on a subscription basis when installed on Advanced Server. Stronghold Enterprise costs $995 per server and includes a subscription for 1 year of e-mail support and product updates. More information is at http://www.redhat.com/explore/stronghold. |
