XcelleNet Adds Synchronization to MobileBy Bernard Cole Atlanta, Ga. -- XcelleNet, Inc., has added new capabilities to its family of mobile infrastructure products with Afaria Sync Manager. It enables organizations to securely extend access to Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino, as well as enterprise application data, directly to Pocket PC and Palm OS devices used by mobile workers. In addition to enabling access to current e-mail, calendar and other personal information management (PIM) data, Sync Manager allows companies to extend other mission critical applications such as CRM, ERP, and Contact Management to mobile device users. With Sync Manager, mobile employees can view, add and modify information from corporate databases -- no matter where they are. Originally announced in the fourth quarter of 2001, enhancements have already been added to Afaria Sync Manager in response to the needs of early customers and now supports Pocket PC 2002 devices, has faster groupware synchronization, and is easier to deploy and configure.
