The Forum Systems XML Security Appliances secure XML data. Forum Sentry addresses the Web services security gap of protecting XML at the data level.

XML, the foundation for Web services, is an actionable and flexible data framework that is creating a new security exposure. XML can be searched by either tags or content, highlighting two key points of vulnerability for any person who can gain access to the data. Current security solutions using SSL, TLS or IPSec protect the document and the transmission pipe, but not the actual XML data inside. Data-level security becomes a greater problem when current security solutions stop at the firewall, creating additional vulnerability by leaving the data unprotected while it is on the server being passed between partners and customers.

Forumıs dedicated XML Security Appliance enables companies to:

  • Instantly deploy commodity services such as digitally signing documents, accelerated data validation and transaction logging.
  • Reduce the number of costly software-based "clusters" by replacing key software services with less expanse hardware-based implementations.
  • Bridge the enterprise-to-Internet gap by expanding the reach of business integration outside the firewall through Internet technologies such as XML, HTTP and SOAP.
  • Automate the complexity of many-to-many trading partners including individual protocols and message formats, various document grammars, tracking and acknowledging trans-actions and granular data-level security.
