Telelogic Tau/Tester Debugs Distriuted AppsBy Bernard Cole MALMO, Sweden --- Tau/Tester from Telelogic AB, is a new standards-based debug tool suite designed to test applications across a variety of distributed platforms and applications, from the desktop to a wide range of wireless devices. A stand-alone tool that can be easily integrated with Telelogic or other third-party products, supports the full lifecycle oftest -- from test design through to development, analysis, execution and debug -- from a single desktop with a common, familiar studio interface. A single test development and execution environment can be deployed across an entire networked enterprise. With built in debugging support for distributed testing, Tau/Tester leverages the latest version of the standardized test language Testing and Test Control Notation, TTCN-3. Unlike TTCN-2, which was primarily used for conformance testing within the communications industry, TTCN-3 is applicable to testing virtually any system including 3G, XML and CORBA-based protocols. According to CTO Ljungdahl, in this first release the company has focused on the most requested features from key customers. Future enhancements will include the ability to describe tests in a graphical format, automatic migration to Tau/Tester from previous generation products, and integration with other software development tools as well as third party products. Tau/Tester supports a range of hosts, including Windows 2000, NT, XP and Sun Solaris 2.6, 7, and 8, with identical user interfaces. It also integrates support for ASN.1 to allow testing of 3G and other telecom products utilizing this notation. For more information, go to http://www.telelogic.com/ |
