Tadpole's new lines of Sun Solaris plug-in network server appliances are bilt around UltraSPARC chips and pre-configured with business software like Tarantella Enterprise 3. Deployable out-of-the-box these devices run complex design programs effectively and securely from any location.

"The Tarantella Application Portal allows remote users to effectively and securely run business applications from anywhere on the Internet. The user can be at home, on travel, or at a customer site and with an SSL-enabled Web Browser and a SecureID token can access business data efficiently even over slower access connections." states David Murillo as user of the Tadpole platform.

Murillo also points out that no special client system or VPN equipment is needed with the network appliance and that data is secured at the business center since no data is transferred. "Even the engineering design tools work well for remote workers and telecommuters that require flexible work schedules to meet demanding timelines."

Tarantella provides the Internet infrastructure software that enables secure, managed access to enterprise applications on the Tadpole boxes. Tarantella Enterprise 3 software provides fast access to all of enterprise server-based applications.

All application data is shared via a Web browser and a network connection. The access is secure and can be personalized for users, departments, by location or job function. Access rights and the control of speed or performance are managed centrally.
