Javachip Maker Nazomi Licenses CLDC and MIDP

SANTA CLARA, Ca. -- Javachip maker Nazomi Communications, Inc., has licensed Sun Microsystems' Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) and Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP).

The CLDC and MIDP are part of the Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition J2ME platform, a scaled down version of the Java platform that is targeted for use in smaller footprint mobile and consumer iappliance products.

The agreement gives Nazomi access to Sun's Java technology that it will incorporate into its current JA108 Universal Acceleration chip for Java architectures and multimedia, and in its JSTAR and JSMART acceleration technologies.
