Cupertino, Ca.-- Ecrio Inc. is now making available its mobile iappliance messaging infrastructure software for Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) in both a C on native OS form and Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME).

Depending on design requirements this will allow wireless handset and iappliance makers two options: either optimize the IMPS client according to the resident OS, devices memory, general peripherals, and user interface and language or using machine independent Java code to speed development time and allow provision over the air with J2ME downloads.

Ecrio embedded J2ME and C client software works with the Ecrio) Rich Instant Messaging Platform, a client/server instant messaging solution enabling the exchange text, handwritten notes, images, audio, video, voice, and document files between a variety of iappliances including smartphones, PDAs, personal computers, and Internet browsers. It allows deployment of either simple text-based wireless instant messaging or complete multimedia messaging service offerings, over 2G, 2.5G, and next-generation 3G networks.
