NETGEAR Inc. is turning on the power with its new line of networking products that communicate over powerlines. The HomePlug compatible Powerline networking units, use the 110V electrical outlets to provide networking across existing wiring in the home. The Powerline products include the NETGEAR Powerline Ethernet Adapter (XE602) and the NETGEAR Powerline USB Adapter (XA601). NETGEAR's Powerline products provide network speeds up to 14 Mbps.

The NETGEAR Powerline Ethernet Adapter (XE602) enables Ethernet devices to access the powerline network from different rooms in the home. The NETGEAR Powerline USB Adapter (XA601) connects desktop systems to the Powerline network through a USB connection. It works with USB-enabled PCs running Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.

Both the XE602 and XA601 will be priced around $99.
