San Jose, Ca. -- Rainfinity, Inc. has introduced new versions of its RainConnect and Rainwall server software services aimed at improving performance and scalability of data centers and networks.

RainConnect is a software tools that targets improving performance and scalability by intelligently distributing traffic among multiple ISP links from different upstream providers. With added support for both client-to-site access and site-to-site VPNs, and tight integration with RainWall, RainConnect 3.0 ensures Internet connectivity despite ISP link disruptions and increases access speed by load balancing network connections across multiple ISP links.

RainConnect software installs behind the access router on standard, off-the-shelf server hardware or on a supported firewall, and does not require any special cooperation between Internet service providers or border gateway protocol (BGP). It can also be deployed in standalone mode or can be easily integrated with RainWall 3.0, the company's high availability and load balancing software.

It manages IP traffic across different address spaces, and deals effectively with Network Address Translation to ensure that connections and sessions are maintained. Additional features include Internet access failure detection, optimal ISP path selection, Network Address Translation and DNS host name resolution. It also eases management tasks through secure remote management tools, customizable notification scripts and SNMP alerts.RainWall 3.0, in addition to working in tandem with RainConnect, is more tightly integrated in this version with Check Point's NG firewalls which moderates fail over to nodes distributed across a campus or metro-wide LAN making it suitable for embedding into network appliances and applications.

Tighter Check Point integration enables automatic RainWall configuration via firewall policy extraction, as well as viewing RainWall health status from the Check Point management console. It supports campus and metro-wide N+K fail-over across distributed firewalls on the same subnet with prioritized fail-over to control primary (local) and secondary (remote) fail-over nodes.

RainWall 3.0 has been re-architected with expanded open interfaces, Linux VLAN trunking support and unlimited virtual IPs to improve its readiness for use in embedded network appliance applications.

RainConnect is available now at a cost of $6000 per node and RainWall 3.0 is available now for Solaris 8 (64-bit and 32-bit), Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server and Red Hat Linux 7.2 (2.4.9-31 kernel) operating systems. Pricing on RainWall starts at $13,500.
