Credant Makes Mobile iAppliances Trustworthy

Dallas, Texas - Mobile Guardian from Credant Technologies, Inc. has introduced its Mobile Guardian, the first enterprise security software solution that makes it safe for organizations to use mobile devices.

Mobile Guardian is a centrally managed, policy-based administration and strong-on-device security enforcement design to address device related iappliance security, which the Gartner Group (2002) predicts will constitute that 85% of the wireless security incidents during the next five years. Solving this problem is critical because sales over the next three years for mobile devices (laptops: 167m; PDAs: 43m) will triple the number of devices already in the hands of corporate employees.

Mobile Guardian, which combines enterprise directory integration, security policies, and enforced on-device security, integrates real-time with existing LDAP compliant directories including Microsoft Active Directory, Novell e-directory and Sun ONE Directory Server. It allows a mobile user to reset their PIN or password without help desk intervention if forgotten.
