Metrowerks' CodeWarrior Opts For Linux OSBy Bernard Cole Austin, Tx. -- Metrowerks, Inc. is releasing a new series of Windows-hosted tools that will allow development of code for embedded and small footprint implementations of Linux across a broad range of multiple processor architectures. CodeWarrior Development Studio, Embedded Linux Edition, includes an application-level CodeWarrior debugger that provides multi-process and multi-thread debugging, and enables debugging of shared libraries. The tool suite utilizes the GNU compiler, linker, and assembler. Available now for Motorola microprocessors compatible with the PowerPC instruction set architecture, and MIPS processors, the Linux based tool will be available before the end of the year for the x86, ARM, and ColdFire CPUs.
