San Jose, Ca. - Net6 Inc. has developed a Telephony Transformation Gateway that can transform existing large screen business applications into a format for use on small screens and the speakers of IP telephones.

The TTG resides within the network, and with a proprietary technology can intelligently transform applications to different IP screen telephones without the need for expensive, proprietary development. Until now, both businesses and IP telephony vendors have been unable to deliver applications via the large screens, browsers, high-speed connection, and speakers that are inherent in IP screen telephones, as there was no quick and easy method to deliver various applications to IP telephones.

The company's TTG technology ogis powered by Net6's patented Sixth Sense technology. In the past, the full screen content can be transformed into the full-screen content and adapts it to the characteristics of any device. Now, application developers don't have to write custom interfaces for each device type and continually update this code as new devices are introduced.

The TTG is a 1U appliance board or blade that can be rapidly customized using the company's Design Studio, an intuitive "point and click" development tool that enables rapid customizing of applications for use on any IP screen telephone.

From a network operation perspective, the TTG acts as a reverse proxy between the user's IP telephone and the application or information that they are accessing. When a user makes a data request, the TTG recognizes the device type. On behalf of the device, the TTG then accesses the HTML/XML information from the data source.

Once the data is returned to the TTG, it is transformed into a format that is supported by the device and, if custom rules are in place, customizes the user experience in real time. The TTG acts as a network assist, supporting features such as cookies, Javascript and secure connections, examples of features not supported in most IP screen telephones today. The outcome is a positive user experience across any IP screen telephone regardless of variations in screen size, resolution, memory, graphics support etc.

The TTG also includes Device Definition Files (DDFs), which allow anyone to transform content to any IP telephone. DDFs, which are similar to device drivers, used in PC's today, include the specific characteristics of each IP screen telephone.

Pricing for a network appliance starts at $7,995.
