Santa Clara, Ca. --- Transmeta Corp. has put together a system development kit (SDK) targeted at embedded and small footprint mobile iappliance designs for its TM5800 Crusoe processor.

The System Development Kit contains a functioning computer motherboard based on an 800MHz Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 microprocessor along with schematics, design guides, processor specifications, and other items needed to jump-start new product designs.

The computer motherboard included in the kit uses an industry standard MicroATX form factor, and has all of the functions of a versatile PC system, including a 3D video graphics accelerator, audio, Ethernet, disk interfaces, three PCI slots, USB, and an infra-red IrDA interface.

System memory is provided with standard slots for DDR SODIMM and SDRAM DIMM memory modules. The system is compatible with x86 computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows CE.net, Microsoft embedded Windows XP and versions of the Linux operating system.

Kits may be purchased for $995.
