Campbell, Ca. -- Equator Technologies Inc. has opted for opens source Linux support in the iMediaTools software development kit it has introduced to support multimedia development on platforms based on its BSP15 video system on chip.

Included in this distribution is support for Equator's popular Tetra Hardware Platform, Equator's low-cost, high-performance and ultra-compact hardware platform for a variety of applications ranging from streaming video appliances and personal video recorders to IP cameras and digital video recorders.

Utilizing Equator's optimizing compiler technology the SDK allows developers to write C and C++ programs for execution on the BSP-15.

The new iMMediaTools Software Development Toolkit Version 6.0 is available now.
