NetSilicon extends embedded networking reach with NS9360

Waltham, Mass. -- NetSilicon, Inc. has expanded its family of Arm 9 RISC-based NET+ARM network optimized embedded 32 bit microcontrollers with the NS 9360.

Optimized for industrial automation, building automation, medical automation, instrumentation, networked displays, networked terminals, and industrial and point-of-sale printers, it is based on the ARM 926EJ-S, ARM's most powerful ARM 9 core processor,.

It is designed as an I/O-rich MCU and includes a range of onchip interfaces such as 10/100Base-T Ethernet, a memory controller, USB (both host and device), an LCD controller, I²C, IEEE 1284, as  well as four serial ports and up to 73 GPIO.   

The chip operates at speeds of up to 177MHz and is priced from $10.95 to $15.45 in 10,000 piece quantities.  The processor begins advanced OEM  sampling next month and will be in full production next spring.
