Wyse Next-Generation Integrated LCD Thin Appliance

Wyse Technology has unveiled the Wyse Winterm 3630LE ultra-thin appliance, a Windows-based terminal built inside a 15-inch digital flat panel multimedia display. The device works in a local area network (LAN) environment that uses a standard suite of office productivity applications accessed from the server or the Web. Its slim design is useful when space is at a premium.

The Winterm 3630LE joins the digital functionality of an LCD panel with thin-client technology. The Winterm 3630LE digital LCD panel projects clearer images than analog LCD panels, thereby decreasing user eyestrain. In addition, the Winterm 3630LE thin appliance comes with the option of an industry standard wall-mounting unit, making it easier to install, connect, and use.

The Wyse Winterm 3630LE comes equipped with the Windows CE operating system, Internet Explorer 4.0 browser, and a Geode processor (GX1 300Mhz) from National Semiconductor. The thin appliance features 10/100 BaseT Fast Ethernet, two USB ports, multiple terminal emulations, and integrated multimedia stereo speakers. The Winterm 3630LE is used with thin-client products such as Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server, Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, Citrix MetaFrame, and Citrix NFuse.

The Wyse Winterm 3630LE is available for a suggested retail price of $1,499 for single unit purchases, with volume discounts available.
