Code Name: Trinity

Merinta's newest set-top box software package, code-named Trinity, is based on Linux and provides client-side delivery of popular media content to the TV screen. It includes RealNetworks' RealAudio and RealVideo support, enabling users to listen to MP3 files and watch Internet video content such as news, movie previews, and music videos. Since the Merinta Trinity package supports Macromedia Flash, users are able to view this technology on devices other than PCs.

Trinity is based on a Linux 2.4 OS and consists of: RealAudio and RealVideo 8, Flash 5, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office document reader, Java, and JPEG support. All of Trinity's components are Internet Explorer-compatible and use HTML 4.0-supporting extended Device Mosaic browser from OpenTV.
