CoNet Communications, Inc. has introduced a gateway to provide Internet connectivity and manage home networks. CoNet'sXpressIP 8550 ADSL Residential Gateway offers secure ADSL Internet access and LAN connectivity through an Ethernet. The ADSL Residential Gateway brings remote management, auto-configuration, and network security features to a home network.

Unlike most other residential gateways, the XpressIP 8550 is designed to fit into residential structured wiring systems. Structured wiring systems are a centralization point between home networks and external network connections that make network installation and maintenance easier.

Client addressing and name resolution is done through XpressIP 8550's NAT, DHCP, and DNS services. XpressIP 8550 runs CoNet's MultiGate/OS operating system and includes security features such as real-time antivirus protection, Web blocking, and firewall subscription services.

  • ADSL modem, G.DMT.2 compliant
  • Ethernet 10Mbps, RJ45 connection
  • Built-in remote management for CoNet XpressIP WAN and LAN modules
  • Built-in remote management of LAN, QoS, VLANs, and power
  • Abillity of XpressIP NAT to accommodate internal Internet hosts
  • Maintenance of network security with built-in, stand-alone, or subscription-based firewall
  • Creation of a simple plug-and-play home network with device auto-configuration
  • VPN support
