Antex Electronics' Media Director, a new multimedia server appliance for the secure delivery and presentation of audio and video across the Internet, encapsulates the capture, storage, and playback of audio and video data. It is used for multimedia production, such as sequencing audio/video programming to promote products, incorporating local content with network feeds, or synchronizing multimedia presentations.

Media Director is designed to manage the delivery, storage, and processing of data, audio, and video. The Media Director can playback and record audio and video and process real-time broadcasts for delivery over the Internet. It is self-sufficient with 20-160GB of local storage and an embedded asset management system with auto-refresh capability to improve the performance quality.

Media Director, with its large local hard disk, is designed to download and store data for instant and reliable playback without the need for a dedicated broadband connection and is capable of streaming audio/video material in real-time. The Media Director can be integrated with a LAN/WAN network or operate remotely via Internet connection and is capable of delivering full-screen MPEG2 video, including NTSC/PAL/component video and high-resolution still images, as well as high-fidelity audio.

Each unit is individually addressable to broadcast its own content or it can be synchronized as a group for simultaneous presentations. The data can be encrypted for secure delivery of the data. Browser based management allows the unit to be remotely configured.
