The multi-room SoundServer M1000 can become the heart of any multi-room audio system. With the capability of storing thousands of music tracks, organized by artist, album, genre, or title, and playing back different tracks in different rooms at the same time, your music needs will be met and probably exceeded.

The SoundServer does everything you dreamed the stereo system of the future would do. It begins by recording audio CDs, tapes, and albums in a variety of ways without being connected to a PC. For instance, it can record audio CDs automatically from its front loading tray and gather CD track listings via the built-in Internet connection. You even have a choice of recording formats, either uncompressed digital, MP3, or a mixture of both. Then the SoundServer makes itself indispensable by allowing you to select artists, albums, tracks, or genres either in a specific sequence or random order. You can even send your selections and someone else's SoundServer, even if they're in a different time zone . Everyone in the house can listen to exactly what he/she wants simultaneously. Talk about modern miracles!

This hard disk-based player/recorder is powered by Imerge XiVA software. The SoundServer is also equipped with a selection of standard control interfaces, including an RS232 serial connection (9-pin male D-connector). The audio connections can be a choice of analog stereo RCA phono, analog jacks (TRS balanced/TSunbalanced), or S/PDIF digital coax, depending upon the configuration you've selected. Connection to the Internet is accomplished through a V90 modem or ISDN connector.

SoundServer does not come equipped with amplifiers, speakers, or audio/control interconnection cables; however, it does include an IR remote control. In addition, a screen-based remote control and wireless IR keyboard are also available as options. The SoundServer is fully compatible with many well-known multi-room controller manufacturers.
