You use the PocketMail Composer by composing an email and holding it up to virtually any phone, including digital and analog cell phones, corporate and hotel PBX phone systems, home phones, cordless phones, and even public payphones. Because you will be using the PocketMail service at a flat fee of $14.95 a month, you dial into a toll-free 800-number to send and retrieve your emails. With this device, you will be able to consolidate all of your emails, from personal POP3, IMAP, and AOL accounts to corporate email accounts. Of course, with your email service, you will also receive a PocketMail email account.

Average connection times between the PocketMail device and the phone are around 40 seconds. On average, three 500-character email messages can be sent in under 30 seconds. Once you have pulled the email messages from your accounts, the PocketMail Composer also has a PC link, which will allow you to synchronize the email with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, and other email programs. Additional email features include PocketRules filters, SPAM filters, and password protection.

As for the organizer functions, the Composer is a 512 KB organizer with PDA features, including scheduler with alarm, a to-do list, calculator, address book, anniversary reminders, and memo pad.

The PocketMail Composer is 6.38 x 3.15 x .94 inches and weighs 8.22 oz. It is powered by two AA batteries.
