The LANpress 2P/Wireless combines print functions and wireless access via 802.11b technology in one device. The 2P/Wireless works as an access point for your wireless network, so network users can have access to email, the Internet, and other network resources, as well as printers, through one simple appliance.

The 2P/Wireless connects to printers via two high performance parallel ports and supports multiple protocols. Using this technology, all LAN and wireless users can have access to the printers. Documents can simultaneously be sent to the printers though either the wireless or 10/100BaseT connections.

As far as management is concerned, the Wireless/2P comes with a set of management tools, including a Web-based setup utility and support for HP JetAdmin software. These management tools include a 32-bit Windows administration utility, MPAdmin, so administrators can view and manage all LANpress devices on the network. Castelle's Web-based management includes an embedded HTTP server on each 2P/Wireless device. To control the Wireless/2P this way, the administrator simply enters the TCP/IP address of the device into a Web browser.

The 9.625 x 5.75 x 1.5-inch 2P/Wireless is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Netware, and UNIX. It supports TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, DHCP, NetBEUI, NDS, NDPS, AppleTalk, SMTP, and POP3 protocols.
