Magnum 520 Wireless GatewaybyIf your home or office has an ADSL or cable modem broadband connection and has even a remote need for the ability to connect to it wirelessly, why would you not consider a wireless gateway? The 3eTI Magnum 520 promises easy connectivity and high-caliber performance from your network while connecting via 802.11b standard. Once you get the device out of the box, you simply configure it to meet your network profile using DHCP network addressing via a Web browser configuration tool. At this point, you can also select how secure you would like your wireless network to be with the option to add 64-bit or 128-bit WEP encryption to the data on top of the automatic NAT firewall security. If your concern centers more around what the individuals within your network are browsing to see, you can filter out Websites, or even IP and TCP ports. Or on the other end of the spectrum, if you would like several people outside your network to access your materials, you can set up DMZ and virtual server configurations to open it up. Based on an x86 processor architecture, the Magnum 520 incorporates a wireless print server and IrDA Hotsync or Web browsing for those PDAs floating around your office. But probably the main concern you might have if you're considering a wireless gateway is how exactly it connects to your network. Well, the Magnum 520 uses a RJ-45 port to connect to a 10/100 Ethernet cable, a RJ-11 port, an optional V.90 modem, a USB port, or, adding the wireless feature, the 802.11b wireless connection. The Magnum 520 measures 8.25 x 8.75 x 4.25 inches and weighs 2 lbs. Pricing and Availability The Magnum 520 is currently available. Contact 3eTI at for pricing information.
