10/100 Mbps Internet Gateway

by

Hypothetically speaking, here is the situation. You have an office of about six or seven people. Of course, everyone has a computer and it is connected to the Internet using DSL, or maybe cable. Now you're getting big enough, and smart enough, to be concerned about network security, but not big enough to buy an expensive system. What is your plan of action? Look for a secure Internet gateway, like the 10/100 Mbps Internet Gateway from Leviton.

10/100 Mbps Internet Gateway

The Internet Gateway connects directly to four devices using RJ-45 connectors, but you can connect up to 253 devices using hubs or switches in place of one of those devices. The fourth port has a push-button uplink port that allows for UPLINK/cascading. Network addressing is taken care of by NAT technology, DHCP, and DNS. NAT is an added bonus, because with that technology, you have a firewall built in to shield all of your devices from outside hackers.

Managing the Internet Gateway is relatively easy, using a WEB GUI configuration. The firmware is upgradable through TFTP, and internal storage consists of 2 MB DRAM and 512K of Flash RAM.

The Internet Gateway measures 1.22 x 6.96 x 4.05 inches.

Pricing and Availability

The Internet Gateway is currently available for around $210.
