MobilePro 780byCarry the NEC MobilePro 780 around with you to use as a communications platform or a presentation mechanism. Browse the Internet using Internet Explorer and the internal 56 kbps v.90 modem. And if you don't need to be connected to do work, the MobilePro 780 is also equipped with a suite of pocket Microsoft programs to keep you productive no matter where you are.
Because mobile devices aren't expected to have the processing power, and power requirements, of a desktop PC, it is a delicate balance to give users enough power to perform the tasks they need to perform, for the length of time they need to perform them. NEC has equipped the 780 with a 168 MHz NEC VR4121 MIPS processor, which uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery. That is the power, and Windows CE 2.11 provides the performance.
For conducting all of your important business, you can use a QWERTY keyboard, or the 8.1 inch color DSTN touchscreen. It displays at a resolution of 640 x 240 and 64 k colors. For presentations, it will project as a resolution of 800 x 600 on an external monitor. The 780 comes with 32 MB RAM and 24 MB ROM. For expandabiliy, it also has a Type II PC Card slot and a Type II CompactFlash card slot. The NEC MobilePro 780 measures 9.6 x 5.2 x 1.1 inches and weighs 1.7 lbs. Pricing and Availability The MobilePro 780 is currently available for around $800.
