With the iPrism, IT personnel can help manage Internet use by monitoring, blocking, and reporting on all of the Internet activity within an organization. Simply add the iPrism to your network using a 10Base-T or 100Base-TX connection and have its filters begin working. You can choose from 60 categories of filterable content, including topics like sex, violence, drugs, racism, and weapons. That should help cut down on unproductive hours at the office.

iPrism

The iPrism is quite simply a filtering appliance, preventing network users from being able to visit certain IP addresses, or from being able to use streaming audio, video, FTP, MP3, or even chat. If they try to access a page that is supposed to be blocked, you can create a custom "Access is Denied" page, and even keep a log of who was trying to access the page.

But as expected, this device can accommodate some pretty sophisticated functions, as well. For instance, you can install some very specific filtering rules, for specific times of the day and particular individuals or groups. There is also the option to add passwords to override the set blocking rules. However, you should keep in mind that the iPrism does not work as a firewall, but works with your firewall, so it will not affect your current security network settings.

The iPrisim is rackmountable, measuring 17 x 1.75 x 15 inches and weighing 15 lbs.

Pricing and Availability

The iPrism package is currently available for around $11,000. It includes the iPrism appliance and three years of filtering support.
