WebDT 380byDesigned for corporate and vertical end-users, the WebDT 380 is a robust computing device for people on the go. If you want a wirelessly-enabled device with lots of browsing capabilities, try the WebDT 380 on for size. Speaking of size, this egronomically designed tablet is a pretty useable size, at 7.9 x 9.6 x 1.1 inches and 2.3 lbs., and its 8.4" TFT touchscreen display with 800 x 600 SVGA resolution will show those Web pages off nicely. If this device can do one thing, it is browse. Equipped with a Ricochet modem and 802.11 wireless LAN connectivity, WebDT380 will let you pull down network documents or Web pages with ease. And for security's sake, there is even VPN support. It runs Windows CE 3.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0, with Windows Media Player, JVM, Acrobat PDF viewer, Macromedia Flash Player, Microsoft Office Suite Viewer, and support for PC synchronization and PIM functions, so you can be assured there is not much you won't be able to do with it. The Geode processor from National Semiconductor was incorporated into this Geode WebPAD design, of course, as were 32 MB of Flash memory and 64 MB of SDRAM. RDP and ICA protocols for Citrix Terminal servers allow for easy network connectivity and information access. It even includes a Terminal Emulation suite. As for external connections, the WebDT 380 comes with one CompactFlash slot, a USB port with printer, mouse, and keyboard support, a headphone jack, and a cradle for charging and support. The Lithium Ion battery pack will keep this device powered up. Pricing and Availability The WebDT 380 is currently available from DT Research for $1185.00.
